Meet Our Faculty:
Mr. Geoffrey Suiter brings over two decades of experience in education, historical interpretation, and curriculum development to Chesterton Academy of the Divine Family. He holds a Master of Arts in Teaching (Secondary Social Studies) from James Madison University, where he graduated with a 3.96 GPA, and a Bachelor’s degree in History (Cum Laude) from the College of William and Mary. He has also completed graduate coursework at Harvard University in Russian and East European studies.
Before joining our team, Mr. Suiter worked for 20 years as a Park Ranger and Education Coordinator for the National Park Service. In this role, he developed and led innovative, interdisciplinary programs combining history, environmental science, and public speaking. His interpretive and teaching work has spanned key national historical sites, including the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal, Jamestown Settlement, Arlington House, and Rock Creek Park.
Mr. Suiter is known for his creativity and storytelling, having written historical scripts, designed educational brochures in collaboration with the Harpers Ferry Center, and created the fictional Civil War-era character “Beglan O’Brien” to engage audiences online. He also has international teaching experience, having served as an English language instructor through WorldTeach in Poland.
In the classroom, Mr. Suiter brings history to life with depth, humor, and passion. His rich experience in public history, combined with his commitment to the Catholic intellectual tradition, makes him a valued guide for our students as they grow in wisdom and virtue.
