Meet Our Faculty:
Dr. Jacob T. Minang brings an exceptional combination of academic, scientific, administrative, and leadership experience to Chesterton Academy of the Divine Family. He holds a Ph.D. in Immunology and a Phil. Licentiate in Immunology from Stockholm University in Sweden, as well as a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science (First Class Honors) in Biochemistry from the University of Buea in Cameroon.
Dr. Minang has more than two decades of experience in biomedical research, having served as a postdoctoral fellow in immunology at both Stockholm University and the National Institutes of Health (SAIC-Frederick, MD), where he focused on infectious diseases including malaria, HIV-AIDS, and anthrax. He has authored or co-authored more than 20 peer-reviewed scientific publications and presented at numerous international immunology conferences.
In addition to his academic achievements, Dr. Minang is the co-founder and President/CEO of Optimal Health Care, Inc., a Maryland-based health services company employing over 300 staff and serving nearly 2,000 clients. He is also co-founder and Vice President of Circle of Trust Inc., a nonprofit organization focused on enriching the lives and marriages of immigrant families.
A former university teaching assistant and experienced trainer, Dr. Minang has delivered lectures in immunology and supervised laboratory instruction in cell biology, ELISA, flow cytometry, and molecular diagnostics. His strong Catholic faith, leadership in the local parish, and deep involvement in family and marriage ministry align with the mission and values of the Chesterton Schools Network.
Dr. Minang’s background in education, science, and executive leadership—combined with his personal commitment to virtue formation and Catholic teaching—make him a valuable asset to the faculty and founding team of Chesterton Academy of the Divine Family.
