Deborah Crall
Music and Literature Instructor

Deborah Brünnhilde Crall is a highly qualified educator and scholar with over two decades of experience in music instruction, curriculum development, and educational leadership across both religious and academic settings. She holds a Ph.D. in Musicology from The Catholic University of America, where she also earned her Master of Music. Her bachelor's degree in liberal arts was awarded by Allegheny College.   


Dr. Crall previously served as Music Teacher at St. Thomas More Academy in Middletown, MD, where she taught general music to preschool through eighth grade and implemented the Ward Music Curriculum, including Gregorian chant notation for middle school students. She has also directed choirs, organized performances, and served as Interim Music Director at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hagerstown, MD.


In addition to her practical classroom experience, Dr. Crall is a published scholar and frequent presenter at national musicological conferences. Her research includes work on liturgical music, church hymnody, and American composers. Her experience at the Library of Congress and as a former music history instructor at The Catholic University of America underscores her academic rigor and depth of expertise.


Dr. Crall brings to Chesterton Academy of the Divine Family not only her academic excellence but also a strong personal commitment to integrating faith and the arts, aligning perfectly with the mission and classical Catholic curriculum of the Chesterton Schools Network.
